An extensive list of the most useful open source projects for the average user. Average is somewhere between a tech-illiterate person and a developer. The list does NOT include anything related to development, such as libraries, frameworks, or APIs. These simply focus on what I or any other person would find useful for everyday use. I guarantee you will find at least a few projects in this list that seems useful but you never heard of before.
